The P&C Association is a vital link between the school and the home. Farnborough State School boasts an active and well-informed P&C. Meetings are held every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm in the Resource Centre. Membership is open to all community members over 18 years of age.
The annual Farnborough Country Fair is held in July as the major fund-raiser for the school. Money raised goes towards a number of projects including reading materials, classroom resources, supporting senior shirts and badges. The P&C have committed to a substantial contribution towards an upgrade of the school hall, including lining the building, adding a kitchen and new audio and video equipment.
Letter of Welcome from the School’s P&C Association
We endeavour to keep our meetings short, friendly and have an open forum policy allowing everyone to have their say. The Annual General Meeting is held in March of each year where all executive positions are open for election.
School uniforms can be purchased from the P&C Association; we endeavour to carry the full range of uniform options on hand. We attempt to supply uniforms at affordable costs to parents and to encourage the compliance of the school’s uniform policy.
The school tuckshop is run by the P&C Association and operates on a volunteer roster system. Presently the tuckshop opens each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Our aim is to provide our students and staff with a balanced and nutritious menu. The Sub Committee would welcome your help as a volunteer to assist with the smooth running of the Tuckshop.
The P&C throughout the year raise funds from various methods to assist with the purchase of equipment and improvement of facilities around the school. Our major fundraising event normally held in July each year is the Farnborough Country Fair. Other activities such as discos, pie drives, raffles, garage sales for example are held throughout the year. Your ideas would be gratefully received.
The P&C Association has a close working relationship with the Principal and staff and our involvement ensures that the school reflects the needs of our school community. It is vital that we attract new members to bring in fresh ideas to enable a continuous improvement in what we offer to the school. I invite you to join our association, have your say and help us to provide the very best educational experience for our children.
Once again welcome and we look forward to working with you.
